‘BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star’ Teaser: Disney+ Docu-Series About K-Pop Superstars Launches On December 20

Disney+ has dropped a teaser trailer for BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, an eight-part documentary series about the global K-pop superstars, as well as announcing a launch date of December 20.

Part of an on-going content partnership between Disney and Korean entertainment powerhouse Hybe, the series tracks the group over their 10-year career and features never-before-seen interviews, performances and behind the scenes moments.

The first two episodes – The Beginning and Adolescence – will start streaming on Disney+ on December 20 and be followed by two new episodes every Wednesday.

The series also features appearances from Hybe Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk, and Kang Myeongseok, author of BTS biography ‘Beyond The Story: 10-Year Record Of BTS’.

In addition to revealing how the band came to be and prepared for their debut, the series will cover key moments in their career, including winning best new artist at the 2013 Melon music awards, struggles during the “Danger” period, their debut at the American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards, what it was like becoming stars in the U.S., and performing at London’s Wembley Stadium.

It will also delve into personal moments such as how they felt about meeting each other for the first time; their initial contract renewal process; the difficulties of isolating during Covid; as well as light-hearted moments such as J-Hope’s surprise birthday party and Jung Kook’s high school graduation.

Disney and Hybe previously collaborated on BTS: Permission To Dance On Stage – LA, featuring BTS’ live performance at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles in November 2021; documentaries Suga: Road To D-Day and J-Hope In The Box, and original travel reality show In The Soop: Friendcation.
