Buffs win conference title, multiple golfers earn All Conference honors

Mar. 29—The Buffs are conference champs.

McAlester boys and girls golf competed in the inaugural Southeast 6 Conference golf tournament on Friday at the McAlester Country Club, where the Buffaloes earned a title win and multiple golfers placed.

On the girls side, Sophie Eaton scored a 113 for the Lady Buffs, Audrey Rampey scored a 101, and Emily Shelton finished with a 92 — earning her First Team All Conference honors.

On the boys side, the Buffs swept first through third place individually on the way to a team conference title.

Zane Owens took first place with a 71, followed by Seth Gilliam with a 73, and Shawn Perkins with a 75. The rest of the herd followed closely behind, with Kaiden Duke earning an 83 and Jackson Miller scoring an 89 — with all earning All-Conference honors for their efforts.

Next up for McAlester golf, the Buffs and Lady Buffs will both head to Coweta on April 1.
