Bukayo Saka fires message to Tottenham after Arsenal thrash Chelsea

Bukayo Saka is keen to move on from Tuesday's big win over Chelsea

Bukayo Saka says all eyes are now on Sunday’s North London derby against Tottenham after helping Arsenal demolish other cross-city rivals Chelsea 5-0 on Tuesday.

Braces from Ben White and and Kai Havertz after Leandro Trossard’s fourth-minute opener saw the Gunners net five in a game for the seventh time this season. They have opened up a four point gap over Manchester City with a 12-better goal difference having played two games more.

Liverpool could go back level on points with a Merseyside derby win over Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday while City take on Brighton a day later. Arsenal now only have four games left to play but face tricky tests in Spurs and Manchester United away during the run-in.

If Man City win their final six matches against Brighton, Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham, they will be crowned champions for an unprecedented fourth successive season. However, one slip up will hand the initiative back to Arsenal, who also have a superior goal difference to Liverpool.

Saka has referenced the importance of Sunday’s game with Spurs while taking to social media after full-time against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium. After posting a photo of himself with Trossard in the dressing room, he wrote on Instagram: “My guy @leandrotrossard! Now let’s lock in for Sunday.”

Arsenal are unbeaten in three matches against Tottenham, having drawn 2-2 with them at home back in September. The last defeat came in a 3-0 away defeat in May 2022, their only loss in their last six meetings.
