C.B. Dollaway Pulled from UFC 203 Following Elevator Accident

The elevators in Cleveland are trying to ruin UFC 203.

C.B. Dollaway was expected to make his light heavyweight debut as the opening fight on tonight's FOX Sports 1 broadcast, but an elevator accident has forced him out of his scheduled bout with Francimar Barroso.

UFC officials said early Saturday morning in a statement that the elevator incident was the cause of Dollaway's withdrawal.

“UFC announced that CB Dollaway has had to withdraw from his scheduled bout at UFC 203 due to an injury he suffered last night as a result of an elevator accident at a hotel in Cleveland,” the statement read. “UFC officials have been in communication with hotel management, and the hotel is currently evaluating and investigating the issues surrounding the incident.”

It's unclear at this time if it was the same incident, but an Instagram video showed Dollaway, along with other UFC fighters Fabricio Werdum, Urijah Faber and others, being trapped in an elevator last night at the Wyndham Cleveland at Playhouse Square.

MMAWeekly.com has not confirmed the nature of Dollaway's injury at the time of this posting, but a report from MMAFighting.com said he suffered a back injury. UFC officials did not comment on Barroso's status, and it is unclear at this time if he will be paid his show money for tonight's card.

UFC 203 is now scheduled to go down with only 10 fights between the undercard and main card.
