Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie troll England as former Celtic pals aim sly dig

Callum McGregor has put the boot into England while they're down after yesterday's draw with Denmark.

After an uninspiring win over Serbia in their first game, Gareth Southgate's men were equally subdued as the Danes held them to a draw last night. That has earned them plenty of criticism from their own fans and pundits who mostly feel the team were sat too deep and need the reins taken off if they are to have any success.

As if it couldn't get any worse for them, the Celtic captain and Scotland star has given them a bit of slagging. Along with former Hoops pal Ryan Christie, now of Bournemouth, McGregor took part in a quiz for Uefa's YouTube channel and had to answer a series of questions.

One of those was on which of this year's participants have never won the Euros, with the options given being Germany, England, Netherlands or France.

McGregor was first to respond and said: "Ah, England. It's England, with Christie chipping in: "Aye, it's England."

That earned the duo a point and the interviewer read out: "That is correct. Losing finalists in Euro 2020 but have never won." Christie replied: "Ah, close", and that invited another dig from McGregor, who said with a straight face: "That was a shame."
