Carlisle amputee football star Thomas Atkinson is celebrating a weekend of cup glory.

The Cumbrian captained Portsmouth to victory over Everton in the final of the FA Disability Cup at St George's Park.

Goalkeeper Atkinson, from Belle Vue, played a key role in his side's dramatic 3-2 victory.

He saved a penalty as Pompey came out on top to avenge their defeat to the Toffees in the previous year's final.

And the Carlisle lad was named player of the match before lifting the cup with his team-mates.

It saw Atkinson and his side complete a cup double, having already claimed the IKO EAFA League Cup earlier this year.

The Cumbrian's starring role in the final was captured by live TV with Saturday's final shown on TNT Sport.
