Carr scores 30 for Oneonta in 56-47 loss to Waverly

Jan. 31—The Oneonta boys basketball team fell to Waverly 56-47 on the road Wednesday.

Brady Carr made seven three-pointers and finished with 30 points for the Yellowjackets while Brotton Zeh added eight points in the loss.

Xavier Watson had 19 points while Joey Tomasso and Jake VanHouten added 14 and 13 points, respectively in the win.

OHS will visit Greene Thursday.

Roxbury 51, Hunter-Tannersville 40

Roxbury bounced back from a slow start to defeat Hunter-Tannersville 51-40 in Delaware League play Wednesday.

The Rockets were held to just five points in the first quarter, but rallied back and took control late, outscoring H-T 20-9 in the fourth quarter after entering the final period tied.

George Proctor led Roxbury with 21 points while Mason Hamil chipped in 13 in the win.

Grady Glennon had 11 points, six steals and five assists for H-T while Connor Schiefer and Gideon Glennon scored 10 and 9 points, respectively.

H-T will be at Schenevus Friday.

Richfield Springs held off Worcester in a 48-47 home win over Worcester Tuesday to clinch a spot in the Tri-Valley League playoffs.

Bradyn Dunckel had a game-high 23 points while Alex Baker added eight in the win.

Tyler Head had 15 points for the Wolverines in the loss.

The Eagles improve to 12-4 and will visit Sherburne-Earlville Thursday while Worcester falls to 8-8 and will host Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Friday.

SKIING

Belleayre Mountain was the site of Wednesday's Section IV alpine ski race on a slalom course.

Windham-Ashland-Jewett placed first in both the boys and girls team races.

Erin Klein of WAJ had the fastest time of the day, winning the girls race in 35.14.

She was followed close behind by teammate Piper Cohane in second (35.66) while Sophia Dyjak finished fourth (37.65).

Teagan Walsh and Brynna Walsh of Corning-Painted Post finished third and fifth, respectively.

Winning the boys race was Margaretville's Chase Norwich with a time of 37.24.

William Schneider of Hunter-Tannersville was second in 37.77, Devin Schlosser (37.87) and JP Klein (38.13) of WAJ were third and fourth, respectively, and Jay Prince of H-T placed fifth (43.00).
