Celtic transfer bulletin as Carl Starfelt return floated and Paulo Bernardo £4million wait goes on

Celtic have been linked this afternoon with a returning hero.

Brendan Rodgers is still on the lookout for a left-sided centre-back with Maik Nawrocki not favoured and Gustaf Lagerbielke completely out of the picture. The manager has only really opted to trust Liam Scales since he arrived for his second stint but it's Carl Starfelt who's been rumoured to be in the picture for a potential return.

According to reports in Spain, Celta Vigo are considering selling the 29-year-old Swede and would be willing to discuss a possible exit for the player and that could open the door to Rodgers bringing him back.

Football Scotland understands the player's salary demands would be heftier than his previous time in Glasgow which could make things more difficult. But he's tried and tested, so it remains to be seen whether or not they'd realistically move to make it happen.

Paulo Bernardo, meanwhile, continues to be the subject of negotiations between Celts and Benfica with a fee closer to £4million than the revealed £6million price originally his release clause. Again, wages seem to be halting any agreement so far.

Celtic have been priced out of any move for Liverpool star Caoimhin Kelleher with the Athletic this afternoon reporting they've slapped a whopping £25million price on his head.
