Celtic transfer round-up as Andy Rojas interest emerges and Asmir Begovic path clears

Celtic are tracking Andy Rojas as they continue to scour the globe for younger talent.

The teenage starlet, 18, had a breakout year in his home country with Herediano and earned a call-up with the Costa Rica squad to play at Copa America. Reports in the Scottish Sun claim the Hoops are one of many clubs in Europe keeping a close eye on the versatile forward who can play most positions across the frontline. Rojas became the youngest player to ever represent his nation at the Copa America when he made a late sub appearance against Colombia.

We at Football Scotland exclusively told you earlier this window that manager Brendan Rodgers wants to add established stars to his squad rather than the previous project players but they are still keeping an eye on youngsters who would add to their squad whilst also representing value for money down the line.

Herediano vice president Aquil Ali said earlier this week: "We’ve had conversations with people in Europe and I believe we’ll soon have something more concrete."

Meanwhile goalkeeper continues to be a main priority and Asmir Begovic has had his path for a new club cleared after leaving QPR. The stopper has been linked with Celts and recently admitted he was excited about what's to come next.

Peter Vindahl Jensen remains the number one target between the sticks but conversations between the club and Sparta Prague are ongoing.
