Next month's Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Rangers on May 25 will kick-off at 3pm, the SFA have confirmed.

Last season's showpiece event was moved to a 5.30pm start to avoid clashes with the FA Cup final in England - prompting criticism from fans and finalists Celtic and Inverness Caledonian Thistle. But the SFA have ruled out a repeat this season, despite this season's Hampden showdown clashing with Manchester City vs Manchester United at Wembley.

A statement read: "The Scottish Gas Men’s Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Rangers will take place on Saturday, 25 May, kicking off at 3pm, live on BBC One Scotland and Premier Sports.

"This season - the 150th anniversary edition of the competition - has produced more unforgettable moments. This past weekend, Celtic defeated Aberdeen on penalties in a classic Semi-Final on Saturday before Rangers saw off Heart of Midlothian on Sunday to seal their place in the showpiece event. The Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup Final will take place the following day, Sunday, 26 May."

It's the first time since 2002 that Celtic and Rangers have met in the Scottish Cup Final.
