Chelsea will take on Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge in what is set to be their final pre-season friendly of the summer.

The Blues have confirmed that the Italians will make the trip to west London on Sunday, August 11 - just one week before Manchester City come to SW6 in the opening weekend of the 2024/25 Premier League season. Kick-off is at 3pm against the Serie A champions and it will be the first match at Stamford Bridge for newly-appointed head coach Enzo Maresca.

Before that, Chelsea travel to the United States to take part in five pre-season fixtures. The Blues take on Wrexham in Santa Clara on July 25, Celtic in Notre Dame, Club America in Atlanta, Manchester City in Columbus and Real Madrid in Charlotte.

Chelsea's most recent meeting with Inter came in 2018 when the sides drew 1-1 in the International Champions Cup in France. Pedro opened the scoring for the Blues before an equaliser from Roberto Gagliardini. Chelsea then won 5-4 on penalties.

The club will be hoping to have a few more signings on show by the time Inter come to London. So far this summer, Chelsea have confirmed five arrivals with Tosin Adarabioyo, Estevao Willian (joins in 2025), Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall all coming through the door at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are still looking to bring in a winger and centre-forward before the summer transfer window shuts. Jonathan David is someone to keep an eye on for the striker position, while interest in Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran has not completely gone, football.london understands.

Meanwhile, the club have no intention of allowing Carney Chukwuemeka to leave on loan this summer. The 20-year-old midfielder is attracting interest from abroad, football.london understands, but the Blues will only entertain offers to take him on a permanent basis.

Chelsea are looking to sell striker Armando Broja this summer and will be open to offers around the £35million mark. The Albanian striker is keen to leave the club as well as he looks to get first-team football on a consistent basis.

The future of Conor Gallagher, too, remains up in the air. Aston Villa, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid remain interested in the 24-year-old midfielder, who has less than 12 months remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

football.london understands there have not yet been talks between Gallagher and Chelsea over extending his stay. Villa contacted his representatives last month but nothing will be decided on his future until after England's involvement at Euro 2024, with the Three Lions taking on Switzerland in the quarter-final on Saturday evening.
