Chelsea were told of Michael Olise's final transfer decision on Friday evening with Bayern Munich emerging as his preferred destination. Earlier in the week, football.london reported that the Blues had been given permission by Crystal Palace to speak to Olise's camp with the outcome of those negotiations clear.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea withdrew from the transfer race for Olise as they felt felt finances involved were beyond reach. It was then revealed just a few minutes later that Bayern had been given the green light by Olise to activate his £60million release clause.

Interest from Stamford Bridge in Olise has been present for some time, though his desire to play at the top level is clear with the German giants the only interested club set to be playing Champions League football next season. Considering how Chelsea have acted in recent transfer windows, backing out of the race was probably a smart decision but what they do next will be vital to that remaining as such.

With that in mind, football.london has taken a look at some potential Olise alternatives with the Blues still looking to sign a winger this summer.

Nico Williams

Spain and Athletic Club star Nico Williams has been lighting up Euro 2024 and with that transfer links have understandably emerged.

Arsenal and Chelsea are said to both be monitoring the winger, who has a release clause in the region of £55million, though his current club are not entertaining summer transfer rumours. Williams is capable of playing on either flank but his preference is on the left with 28 of his 31 La Liga appearances coming on that side, as per transfermarkt.

Though he is yet to score or assist for Spain in his 136 minutes played at this summer's tournament, he has been electric and the 21-year-old looks set for an eventual move with Chelsea free to pursue his services if they so please.

Johan Bakayoko

Another exciting winger at Euro 2024 in Germany is Belgium's Johan Bakayoko. The PSV starlet is fresh off contributing to 28 goals in the 2023/24 season with Liverpool already linked to a potential transfer.

Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund are also looking at the winger with £43million mooted as his asking price. The 21-year-old is more like Olise than Williams with his preference to play on the right very clear as all of his appearances in the last campaign came there.

Bakayoko has two years remaining on his contract and could be ready to make the next step in his career with Chelsea as an option

Crysencio Summerville

Liverpool-linked Crysencio Summerville is expected to be available this summer with Leeds needing to sell after failing to achieve promotion back to the Premier League. The Netherlands international was Leeds' talisman in the Championship with 21 goals scored and a further 10 assists picked up.

Summerville's preference is playing on the left though he is capable of switching flanks. Despite their worrying financial predicament, the Whites could hold out for at least £35million to sell their star man with two years remaining on his contract.

Federico Chiesa

Juventus winger Federico Chiesa is another Liverpool transfer target that could become an option for Chelsea. The 26-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent seasons though he appears to be reaching the level shown before his long-term absence because of a knee issue.

Chiesa has shown glimpses of his quality for Italy over the past week with the Italian club potentially looking to sell. Manchester United attacker Mason Greenwood is a target for the Old Lady, but to sign him, a departure is needed and that could arrive in the form of Chiesa.
