Chelsea star Levi Colwill is reportedly attracting interest from Bayern Munich this summer. Colwill recently completed his first campaign with the Blues first-team after spending a year on loan at Brighton.

The centre-back made 32 appearances for Chelsea under former manager Mauricio Pochettino and was a regular figure in the Premier League and the run to the Carabao Cup final.

Last summer saw Colwill heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Liverpool reportedly interested at the time. Now fresh reports are claiming that the Chelsea defender could be on the move once again.

According to Sky Sports Germany, Bayern Munich have identified Colwill as a potential target this summer. It has been claimed that Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah is their number one target, but could still make a move for Colwill.

The report states that Bayern Munich will make a move to sign Colwill in the event they fail to agree on a deal for Tah.

It has been reported that talks between the Bundesliga club and Chelsea over Colwill's future have already taken place ahead of the summer transfer window.

Colwill is valued at around £42m according to Transfermarkt, with the Blues having rejected similar bids from Premier League rivals last summer. And history could repeat itself, with journalist Fabrizio Romano insisting Chelsea once again have no intention of selling their young defender and consider him an important part of their plans - even though any fee would represent pure profit in the context of Financial Fair Play.

Bayern Munich have a new manager at the helm with Vincent Kompany replacing Thomas Tuchel earlier this summer. Now it seems that Kompany, who spent the last two years managing Burnley, is keen to bring Colwill to the Allianz Arena when the transfer window opens.

Chelsea have already moved to sign a new defender of their own this summer. Tosin Adarabioyo will move to Stamford Bridge as a free agent following the expiration of his contract at Fulham.

Colwill made 23 appearances in the Premier League under Pochettino's leadership, but it remains to be seen what the plan will be in the new campaign. Enzo Maresca is the new Chelsea manager and will look to assess his squad during pre-season training which begins next month.
