Chelsea player ratings vs Borussia Dortmund: Ben Chilwell shines in huge Champions League win

Graham Potter's Chelsea reign came alive as they beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 on aggregate to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

Trailing 1-0 from the first leg in Germany, Chelsea scored twice within ten minutes, either side of half-time, to earn a deserved victory.

Raheem Sterling fired them level on aggregate and Kai Havertz's retaken penalty doubled their lead on the night.

The German's first spot-kick struck the base of the post but the VAR ordered a retake after several Dortmund players encroached on the box.

Kepa 8

Kept out Marco Reus' freekick with a flying one-handed save and made another sharp stop to deny Marius Wolf at 2-0.

Wesley Fofana 7

Composed at the back, using his pace and positioning to mop up and dealing with Seb Haller's threat in the air.

Kalidou Koulibaly 8

Should have scored from point-blank range in the first half but was assured defensively and classy on the ball.

Marc Cucurella 8

Pressed well and snapped into tackles throughout, helping to set the tone.

Reece James 7

An energetic and tidy outlet down the right flank and used the ball well.

Mateo Kovacic 7

Misplaced too many passes in the early stages but grew into the game and was impressive in transition.

Enzo Fernandez 8

Always wanted the ball to feet and was the heartbeat of the side. Booked in the second half and replaced before the end.

Ben Chilwell 9

Set up Sterling's goal, won the penalty and made a goal-saving challenge at the other end. Set piece delivery was also on point in a brilliant display.

Raheem Sterling 7

Finished emphatically to break the deadlock having earlier fluffed two one-on-ones - albeit from offside positions - in the first half.

Joao Felix 6

Involved in two early chances, before shooting straight at Alexander Meyer from a great position. Faded in the second half and hooked.

Kai Havertz 8

Held his nerve to score from the spot at the second time of asking. Struck the inside of the post in Chelsea's best chance of the first half and scored an emphatic disallowed goal.

Conor Gallagher (Felix 67') 7

Full of energetic running and had a goal disallowed after another Sterling offside.

Christian Pulisic (Sterling 82') 6

Fired wide when one-on-one and lucky to see the flag go up.

Helped Chelsea to see out a crucial win.

Overhit a late cross on a promising counter.
