Chelsea star Eden Hazard suffers ankle fracture on international duty with Belgium

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has fractured his right ankle while on international duty with Belgium.

The Belgian FA confirmed on Sunday night that their captain sustained the injury in training.

Hazard is expected to be sidelined for between six to eight weeks.

It had been announced earlier in the day that the Chelsea star would miss the forthcoming matches against the Czech Republic and Estonia with what was then considered a twisted ankle, only for scans to reveal to true extent of the damage.

The 26-year-old suffered the injury during Sunday's training session at the National Football Centre in Tubize. No other player was said to be involved in the incident.

Conte then faces an Italian reunion against Inter Milan four days later at 7:35pm in their final match in Singapore.

The date is not yet set, but will likely be Sunday August 6 - the last weekend before the start of the season.
