Wolves have confirmed the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Pedro Lima with a brutal dig at Chelsea after they failed to sign the defender. As part of the Blues' transfer strategy, acquiring young talent with a view to flipping for profit is an aim and Lima looked set to become the latest addition to that plan.

A verbal agreement was in place between the 18-year-old and Chelsea, however Wolves hijacked the deal at the eleventh hour and have subsequently aimed a brutal dig at the Blues in their official announcement. Lima's fellow Brazilian Matheus Cunha, having potentially played a role in the deal, was at the centre of Wolves' video.

During the 58-second clip posted to X, framed as though it is from Cunha's point of view, an update from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Chelsea's move for Lima was placed on a computer screen only for the person to mute posts from that account with Lima later walking through the office door.

Even though it looked likely Lima would arrive at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea were warned, courtesy of Cunha, during negotiations that a move to Wolves could still occur.

"Pedro Lima is a talent, he has a bright future. He is from Paraiba who comes to Recife and has a very similar story to me. I wish him the best," Cunha told Brazilian news outlet Globo Esporte.

"I wanted him to be playing with me because I think Wolves were also interested. But he made his decision, Chelsea is a great club and I hope he plays and I hope to play against him often." Despite Cunha's rather clear admission, Lima has joined him at Molineux with Chelsea missing out on the teenager as a result.
