Chelsea vs Grimsby Town LIVE: Carabao Cup 2019-20 commentary live stream, TV, latest score, prediction

Welcome to the Evening Standard's LIVE coverage of Chelsea vs Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup.

Frank Lampard is still looking for his first Stamford Bridge win as Blues boss - and tonight would be the perfect time to get it.

Lampard's start to life in the Chelsea dugout has been a mixed bag with the likes of Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham seizing chances afforded by the club's Fifa transfer ban, though the Blues are very much a work in progress as they sit 11th in the Premier League table.

But Chelsea can forget their League frustrations for an evening though as they take on the League Two Mariners, with Lampard finally hoping to celebrate a win in front of the Stamford Bridge faithful.

Team news and predicted lineups

Lampard has confirmed that while he will use young players in this cup tie, he insists the Blues will respect Grimsby.

Having already given chances to the likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori, Lampard says he will play more of the club's promising talent.

Callum Hudson-Odoi will return from his Achilles injury, while N'Golo Kante could be rested after numerous injury complaints.

Reece James is on the comeback trail, but Emerson Palmieri, Antonio Rudiger and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all out, with Andreas Christensen (knee) a doubt.

Chelsea XI: Caballero, James, Zouma, Tomori, Alonso, Gilmour, Kovacic, Barkley, Hudson-Odoi, Batshuayi, Pulisic

Grimsby XI: McKeown, Hewitt, Pollock, Gibson, Hendrie, Whitehouse, Hessenthaler, Robson, Green, Hanson, Wright

Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Grimsby Town

The visitors will show plenty of spirit, but Lampard's attack should see this one out - expect Christian Pulisic to make an impact in particular.
