Chelsea have made contact with Jonathan David and his entourage regarding a possible transfer this summer.

The 24-year-old has just 12 months remaining on his contract at Lille and is eager to seal a move away this window, football.london understands. David scored 26 goals in 47 appearances spread across all competitions in the recently-concluded 2023/24 campaign.

The Blues are in the market for a centre-forward this summer as they look to provide support and competition to Nicolas Jackson. The 22-year-old enjoyed an impressive first season at Stamford Bridge but was relied on too heavily for the club's liking.

Chelsea were interested in Benjamin Sesko and were hoping to make a move for the RB Leipzig forward. However, Sesko ended up extending his contract at the Red Bull Arena to quash any speculation about his future.

Talks have happened with Aston Villa over Jhon Duran, although football.london understands interest in the young Colombian striker has cooled somewhat over the past week or so. Chelsea have also made contact with Atletico Madrid for striker Samu Omorodion.

However, Atleti are determined to keep hold of the 20-year-old, who is very highly regarded in Madrid, and are unlikely to budge on their stubborn stance this summer. So Chelsea have been forced to look elsewhere and David is one of the numerous options being considered at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Michael Olise looks to be off to Bayern Munich after Chelsea dropped out of the race to sign the Crystal Palace winger. The Blues had been in continuous contact with Palace and Olise's representatives but sources have claimed the French Under-23s international favoured a move to the Allianz Arena.

Chelsea confirmed the signing of Estevao Willian on Saturday with the young winger set to join the club next summer. The 17-year-old wonderkid will sign for around £30million initially but that fee will rise considerably should performance-related add-ons be met.

Another teenager on his way to Stamford Bridge looks to be Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa. The 18-year-old is set to move to Chelsea with the club in advanced talks over a £20million move this summer, football.london has been told.

Going the other way, though, is Ian Maatsen. Villa have reached an agreement with Chelsea for a £37.5million move with the Netherlands international expected to sign a long-term contract at Villa Park.
