Liverpool star Mohamed Salah trolls Manchester United on Twitter over Champions League draw
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah trolls Manchester United on Twitter over Champions League draw

Must-have pick – Mohamed Salah

There may be a limited number of Premier League matches this weekend but thankfully this season’s breakout star is still available for action. Mohamed Salah has scored seven goals and provided three assists in Liverpool’s last six home games.

It goes without saying that he’s outscored both Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in the majority of matches played since August. The last time Salah failed to score or assist at home in the league was on 13th December.

The Reds are averaging more than two goals per game this season and face a Watford team that have only kept one away clean sheet since November. It’s just the kind of match that Salah needs to quickly put behind the loss against Manchester United last weekend.

Comeback pick – Leighton Baines

Leighton Baines (centre) provided the assist for Everton’s second goal to Cenk Tosun on Saturday against Brighton.
Leighton Baines (centre) provided the assist for Everton’s second goal to Cenk Tosun on Saturday against Brighton.

Leighton Baines returned with a bang last Saturday in his first game since November, providing an assist and keeping a clean sheet in typical fashion. Everton have seriously struggled recently without Baines, failing to keep a clean sheet in their last 10 games.

Another point of note is that Wayne Rooney missed a penalty in their last game which increases the chances of Baines resuming spot kick duty. News of Gylfi Sigurdsson’s injury’s also sharpens Baines’ fantasy appeal from free-kicks. In fact, Baines has two goals and two assists in his last four league games.

The Toffees visit Stoke on Saturday knowing that the Potters have the fourth worst home record in the league and have failed to score in their last two outings. Baines should be more than capable of assisting, scoring or keeping a clean sheet.

Differential pick – Junior Stanislas

Junior Stanislas is tied with Harry Kane for the most shots over the last four Gameweeks with 16.
Junior Stanislas is tied with Harry Kane for the most shots over the last four Gameweeks with 16.

Having missed a number of matches throughout the season, Junior Stanislas has returned to form by scoring three goals and providing two assists in his last seven games. Such is his attacking threat that he has registered fourteen shots on goal in his last three games.

Stanislas is currently Bournemouth’s joint-second top scorer and should be able to match his tally of seven goals from last season. With that said, he doesn’t always play the full 90 minutes of matches, having been withdrawn early four times in the last six games.

The Cherries entertain bottom of the table West Brom at the Vitality Stadium this weekend and should find it a relatively easy scoring against a team that is effectively doomed for relegation.
