Mohamed Salah believes finishing as the Premier League’s top scorer for 2017-18 might just highlight why Chelsea were wrong to let him go.

Must-have pick – Mohamed Salah

With 40 competitive club goals this season, surely there’s only one stand out pick for this weekend? I have ran out of superlatives to describe the Egyptian international. There seems to be no abating to his goal scoring and record breaking.

The race for the golden boot is far from over and Salah will be looking to add to his tally. He’s averaging four shots on goal per game in the league and only failed to start once since New Years’ Day.

With that said, the only concern is that Liverpool are still involved in the Champions’ League and that could have an impact on Salah’s minutes during Premier League games. West Brom may have stunned Manchester United last weekend, but I highly doubt they’re going to stop a team that has scored 37 league goals in 17 away matches since August. I expect nothing less than a continuation of the ‘Mohamed Salah Show’ at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

Comeback pick – Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus will be looking to spearhead Manchester City’s attack in the final games before leading the line for Brazil in the World Cup in Russia.

Having experienced a long injury layoff from the turn of the year, it’s safe to say that Gabriel Jesus has re-established himself in the first team. He’s now scored two goals and provided two assists in his last four league appearances. This return to his attacking best has also coincided with Sergio Aguero’s injury woes, with reports ruling him out for the remaining games of the season.

Without this rotation risk and the league wrapped up, Jesus could benefit even more without internal and external pressures. It’s now about having fun, setting bonus milestones and getting a good run of games before the World Cup.

Manchester City are still chasing the record tally for goals and points in the Premier League, and Jesus will be key in securing those feats. The Citizens are due to play a Swansea team that have almost secured safety from relegation and will be looking to protect their goal difference. But at the Etihad they have no chance, as Manchester City will be looking to add to their 53 home league goals.

Differential pick – Wilfried Zaha

It’s fair to say that Crystal Palace definitely missed the presence of Wilfried Zaha in the early part of the season. His absence and fitness issues culminated in the Eagles’ downturn in form, which was only addressed with the appointment of Roy Hodgson.

Mathematically, they may not be safe from relegation, but for all intents and purposes they are. One more big win will probably be enough for them to gleefully think about the top flight next season. Unsurprisingly, Zaha has been instrumental in their recent form with three goals and two assists in his last five appearances, including two last week against Brighton.

Another goal will allow him to maintain his best league tally since turning professional. He’s had ten shots on goal in his last two games, which shows his viability and attacking prowess. Crystal Palace are due to visit Watford who have conceded the most league goals at home this season. It’s just the kind of match that Zaha needs to maintain his momentum in front of goal.
