Christian Pulisic's injury keeps him off the USMNT roaster for Nation League quarterfinal games

Christian Pulisic, winger for AC Milan and the United States Men's National Team, has been excluded from the USMNT roster for the Concacaf Nations League matches in November due to a left hamstring injury that he sustained during Milan's Champions League game against Paris Saint-German earlier this week.

This is the second time in a month that Pulisic has experienced hamstring issues. In a game against Napoli on Oct. 29, he suffered from an injury to the same leg, but it was later discovered that it was muscle tightness. According to Football Italia, tests have determined that no serious damage occurred to Pulisic's thigh but he is expected to miss the following Serie A match against Lecce.

Although the Pulisic's injury is not considered severe, the United States coach Gregg Berhalter has decided to leave him out of the 23-player squad for the two-leg Concacaf Nations quarterfinal games against Trinidad and Tobago on November 16th and 20th.

The match winner between the USMNT and Trinidad and Tobago will advance to the Nations League Finals and punch their ticket to the 2024 Copa America.

Christian Pulisic’s past injuries

Christian Pulisic, the talented USMNT footballer, has had several injuries throughout his career.

During his stint with Chelsea F.C., Pulisic suffered from muscle contusions, a groin injury, and a tear to his abductor's muscle. These injuries kept him sidelined for 156 days during the 2019-2020 season.

In 2021, Pulisic incurred an ankle injury while playing for the USMNT against Honduras. He was out of action for a little less than two months.

During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Pulisic sustained a pelvic injury during a group-stage game against Iran. Pulisic returned for the USMNT’s round of 16 match against the Netherlands, where they were eliminated from the World Cup.

Pulisic suffered an ankle injury during Chelsea’s Premier League match against Manchester City in Jan. 2023. This injury resulted in him missing out on 10 matches in all competitions for Chelsea F.C. Pulisic then suffered a calf strain that kept him out of action for three additional weeks.

Christian Pulisic joined AC Milan on July 13, 2023 and isn't having the best luck staying healthy and injury-free.
