The star, who broke out in the 1980s, is also known for the TV series “Bring ‘Em Back Alive” and “Falcon Crest.”

Cindy Morgan, the actress best known for her roles in the beloved 1980s films Caddyshack and Tron, has died. She was 69.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office confirmed to PEOPLE that Morgan’s roommate discovered her body at her Florida home in Lake Worth Beach on Dec. 30 after returning home for the holidays. Officials were not able to specify when she died, though they do not suspect foul play and think she died of natural causes. Morgan was last seen alive on Dec. 19.

Born in Chicago on Sept. 29, 1954, Morgan worked as a weather forecaster, radio host, and DJ before pursuing a career in acting. She moved to Los Angeles in the late 1970s, where she landed a gig as a model for Irish Spring soap, and then began appearing in commercials and print advertisements. She followed that success with a breakout role in the 1980 raunchy hit comedy Caddyshack, her first feature film, in which she starred opposite Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, and Rodney Dangerfield as a bombshell golfer.

Morgan recalled the experience of becoming famous for the character, Lacey Underall, in a 2012 interview.

Caddyshack was my first film and I’ll say that the end product was so completely different,” she said. “It was originally about the caddies. So at first, I had nothing to lose to audition. It was fun. All I did was focus on making the person sweat. Look ’em in the eye, do that thing many women know how to do. The real transformation came when producer John Peters sprung on me the night before that Playboy was coming to the set to shoot me and I said no. They came anyway and Peters said “You are f---ed in this business!” [for refusing to do the shoot] and my agent didn’t handle it. From that moment on, Cindy Morgan was Lacey Underall.”

Morgan also appeared in episodes of The Fall Guy, CHiPs, Matlock, Hunter, She’s the Sheriff, and more. Her most recent role was as the voice of Mason’s mother in the 2022 indie film Face of the Trinity.
