Burnley have confirmed the signing of Shurandy Sambo on a free transfer from PSV Eindhoven.

The Netherlands Under-21 international has put pen to paper over a four-year deal at Turf Moor and becomes the club's first signing of the summer.

Sambo told the club website: “I’m very happy to be here and I’m ready to show myself now. I chose Burnley because it’s a historic club with a good fanbase and it was the right choice for me.

“The club, the fans, the stadium, the team-mates, everything is a part of it and I just felt good instantly and it felt like the right place for me.

“It’s been a good first week in training, the coaches have been really good and everyone around me has helped me settle in already.”

The full-back rose through the ranks at PSV and made his senior debut in 2021 during an Eredivisie fixture against Utrecht.

Sambo had a loan spell at Sparta Rotterdam during the 2022/23 campaign and was regularly involved in the Dutch top flight.

He made 14 appearances for PSV last term as the side clinched the title and has represented the Netherlands from Under-15 to Under-21 levels.
