Clark Robertson seals Dundee transfer despite 'interest' from Hibs and English sides

Clark Robertson has completed a move to Dundee after being linked with them and Hibs.

Both Premiership sides had been credited with an interest in the 30-year-old defender after he left Israeli side Ashdod, while English clubs were also thought to be looking after previous stints at several clubs in the lower leagues. But it's Tony Docherty who has won the race.

The Aberdeen academy product has been announced as the Dens Park side's latest summer signing and their second of today after they also welcomed Jon McCracken back permanently after his loan from Norwich. In their announcement, the club confirmed he'd had other interest from Scotland and England.

Robertson told the Dundee website: "I’m buzzing to sign for the club and to be coming back to Scotland. I’ve worked with the manager before at Aberdeen and when I spoke to him I was really excited about what he had to say.

"He’s played a big part in getting me here and hopefully I can repay that faith he has shown in me. Dundee is a great club, they had a great season last year finishing in the top 6 and they have some really exciting young players and it was something that I wanted to be part of.

"I think Dundee is the perfect move for me at this stage in my career. I got experience over the past nine years playing in England and then abroad last season and hopefully I can use that experience to help the younger boys at the club.”
