Chelsea star Cole Palmer has acknowledged new signing Estevao Willian's homage to him after he scored in Palmeiras' 3-1 victory over Juventude.

The 17-year-old was confirmed as a Chelsea player this weekend with reports suggesting the Blues could pay up to £51m for the right-sided winger. Announcing the deal on their official website, the club wrote: "The 17-year-old has already built a strong reputation in South America as one of the most exciting talents around due to his skilful dribbling and electric pace, causing defences plenty of problems in his breakout season in senior football."

Willian will officially join his new teammates in West London next summer and in the meantime shall continue to gain experience in senior football with Palmeiras. Keen to make an impression following his big money move to Europe, the teenager scored the crucial second goal in the victory over Juventude.

Showcasing his striker's instincts in front of goal, Willian did well to control a flick on in the area before firing the ball into the net with 15 minutes remaining to make it 2-1. As the wonderkid soaked up the adulation, he opted to pull out Palmer's iconic 'cold' celebration.

Quickly the clip of the goal and celebration circulated on social media and Willian added a picture of him celebrating to his Instagram. The teenager wrote: "Another amazing night. Victory, goal, congratulations to the whole team. We continue. God knows about all things."

Palmer was quick to share this message to his Instagram story when he woke up with the perfect one-word caption: "Soon," accompanied with a winking emoji.
