Count Conor McGregor’s coach among the many people who want to see McGregor and Nate Diaz finally settle the score. John Kavanagh said he would love to see the Diaz-McGregor trilogy.

Kavanagh made that admission on Ariel Helwani’s ESPN show. Helwani asked Kavanagh who he would like to see McGregor fight. He answered with Diaz.

Kavanagh somewhat hedged on that answer later, saying anyone in UFC would be a good fight for a motivated McGregor. But when Helwani pushed Kavanagh on it, Kavanagh said, “If you’re going to put a gun to me, it would be the Diaz trilogy.”

Diaz vs. McGregor should have plenty of appeal. The two have only fought twice. Diaz won the first fight, but McGregor took the second. Getting them in the Octagon for a rubber match would allow both fighters to finally see who’s better.

McGregor’s next opponent remains unclear. He hasn’t fought since losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov last year. A rematch with Nurmagomedov would definitely appeal to fans, especially considering everything that went down the last time they fought.
