Conor McGregor Has Bulked Up to 86kg, and He Looks Absolutely Jacked

It's been five months since Conor McGregor suffered a leg break in his trilogy fight with Dustin "The Diamond" Poirier, and if the Irishman's Instagram is anything to go by, he's determined to avenge the defeat and regain a fight-night-ready physique as quickly as possible.

Having been left in a cast for months afterwards following the gruesome break of his fibula and tibia, the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion has been ramping up his workout regimen as of late in a bid to get back to top physical shape.

Ever since the leg break in July, "The Notorious" has been posting frequent training updates during the rehabilitation process. Right now, the focal point of McGregor's sessions are centred on adding mass – we've seen him ripping through weighted pull-ups, preacher curls, and dumbbell bench presses on the grid. His hard work is clearly paying off. In a recent Tweet, the 33-year-old claimed to be "190lbs of granite" – that's 86kg, surely by far the heaviest McGregor has been – and there's no denying he's looking absolutely jacked. When you consider he clocked in at 156lbs (70kg) for the trilogy fight with Poirier, it's pretty remarkable.

At this rate, McGregor is going to be in peak condition by the time he returns to the Octagon – slated for the first half of 2022, potentially as soon as April. Prospective opponents include a fourth bout with Poirier and a face-off against welterweight king Kamaru Usman – but only time will tell whether he'll seek to pursue a championship win in a third weight class.

"He's doing a lot of strength training at the moment," said McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh. "The guy is jacked. I think he's coming back as a middleweight! But he'll be back on the mats with me now shortly and we'll start off with combat sports training again."
