Cooperstown's lethal shooting leads to dominant road win

Jan. 30—The Cooperstown boys basketball team made 12 three-pointers Tuesday as it cruised to a 72-42 win over Unatego/Franklin on the road.

Charlie Lambert had a game-high 21 points and 10 assists for the Hawkeyes while Brody Murdock tallied 17 points and eight rebounds and Cooper Coleman added 16 points in the win.

Cooper Bradley grabbed 11 rebounds for Cooperstown.

Xander and Braeden Johnson had 14 and 11 points, respectively, for U/F.

Cooperstown will host New York Mills Friday while Unatego/Franklin will visit Deposit-Hancock Thursday.

Schenevus 63, Gilboa 54

Schenevus held off Gilboa for a 63-54 non-league victory at home Tuesday.

Lucien Kortekaas led the Dragons with 19 points while Allen Osborne followed up with 18 and Jackson Reed pitched in 14.

For Gilboa, Cody Ciaravino had a game-high 25 points. Jacob Strauch scored 13 while Garrison Ross finished with 12.

Schenevus will be at Morris Thursday.

Milford 78, Sharon Springs 19

Milford got off to a fast start and never looked back in a 78-19 victory over Sharon Springs at home Tuesday on its Senior Night.

Christian Lawson had a game-high 24 points for the Wildcats while Braden Murphy tallied 22 points and Carter Stevens had a triple-double of 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the win.

Ethan Mickel led SS with 11 points in the loss.

Milford will host Hunter-Tannersville Monday while Sharon Springs will host Canajoharie Thursday.

Johnson City 66, Delhi 49 (Monday)

The Delhi boys fell to Johnson City 66-49 Monday on the road.

Teddy Kelsh, Angelo Krzyston and Ivan Richardson each scored 10 points for the Bulldogs in the loss.

Zubayr Griffin had a game-high 21 points while Felix Morales added 15 points in the win.

Delhi falls to 12-3 and will host Harpursville Thursday.

BOYS SWIMMING

The Oneonta boys swim team triumphed over Chenango Forks 94-80 in Tuesday's home meet.

Logan Temming and Elias House each won a pair of individual events for the Yellowjackets, with Temming taking first in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly and House winning the 50 and 100 freestyle races.

Elsewhere for OHS, Cyrus Wightman won the 200 individual medley while Jacob Forster-Rothbart was first in the 100 breaststroke.

Oneonta also won both the 200 and 400 freestyle relay events.

Oneonta will be at Owego Free Academy Friday.
