Hibs are ready to battle Kilmarnock for the signature of Corrie Ndaba.

The 24-year-old Irishman spent last season on loan at Rugby Park and Derek McInnes is keen to bring him back for the new season. Ndaba is in the final year of his contract at Ipswich Town and is set to leave the Premier League new boys on a permanent basis this summer.

And while Killie were confident of agreeing a deal with the Tractor Boys, it's believed Ndaba is weighing up his options as several clubs circle. David Gray is determined to fix Hibernian's defensive issues and has already added Marvin Ekpiteta and Warren O'Hora, plus goalkeeper Josef Bursik to their ranks.

Now, the newly-appointed Easter Road boss has set his sights on Ndaba as he gets set to rival Kilmarnock for the versatile stopper - who can play at left-back and centre-half.

Ndaba - who also had a loan stint at Ayr United in 2021 - played a crucial role in helping Killie achieve European football last season, racking up 37 appearances.
