Chelsea host Arsenal in the second of three London derbies this month as they contest the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final on Wednesday night.

The Blues left it late against Bournemouth in the semi-finals while Arsene Wenger’s side needed just one goal to beat another London rival in West Ham.

With Manchester City running away with the Premier League title, the EFL Cup will have taken on greater significance in both camps, especially though in north London. The Gunners are now out of the FA Cup having fallen to Championship Nottingham Forest at the weekend, and Wenger has never won the trophy.

After a lively 2-2 draw to round off the festive fixtures in the League, many are expecting another tantalising battle between the two sides. Wenger, though, will be forced to watch from the stands as he serves the second game of his three-match touchline ban.

How could the champions line-up, though? Here’s Standard Sport’s Simon Johnson’s predicted XI…

(3-5-2) Courtois, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Cahill, Moses, Bakayoko, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso, Hazard, Morata
