NEWPORT County AFC have finalised their pre-season fixtures with two more games on the road.

The Exiles return on Monday to start preparations for the League Two campaign with owner Huw Jenkins still hunting a new head coach after the departure of Graham Coughlan.

The aim is to have a new boss in place for the first tune-up against Undy on Saturday, July 13 and County will play a total of six friendlies.

The latest fixtures slotted into the schedule are a trip to Cymru South side Pontypridd United on Tuesday, July 16 (kick-off 7.45pm) and a final hit-out against Hereford at Edgar Street on Saturday, August 3 (kick-off 3pm).

Coughlan’s side edged out Ponty, who were relegated from the Cymru Premier, 2-1 on the artificial surface at USW Sport Park last summer thanks to goals by Shane McLoughlin and Sam Bowen.

The Exiles last travelled to Hereford, of National League North, in the summer of 2020 when they won 4-0 in a game played behind closed doors.

County get the real stuff under way on Saturday, August 10 when they make the short trip to Whaddon Road to face Michael Flynn's Cheltenham.
