From courting to engaged! England basketball star proposes to girlfriend after Commonwealth Games win
As sporting proposals go this one was a slam dunk.
Jamell Anderson helped England’s basketball team to crush Cameroon and then called girlfriend Georgia Jones onto court and got down on knee to propose.

Jones, fresh from helping England’s women beat Mozambique promptly broke down in tears – they don’t call this the Friendly Games for no reason.

“We both worked really hard to be here. Basketball is such a big part of our lives so the Commonwealth Games seemed the perfect place to propose,” said Anderson.
Anderson called Jones onto the court for a photo at which pointed she was surrounded by his team-mates.

“It was a huge surprise, to be honest I’m in complete shock,” said Davies, who admitted the champagne will stay on ice with their toughest group match against Olympic medallists Australia still ahead.
“I didn’t know it was going to happen at all, I’m completely speechless.”
