Crystal Palace boss Patrick Viera has tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of this afternoon’s Boxing Day clash with Tottenham.

Viera is self-isolating and will not be present in the dugout at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with assistant manager Osian Roberts to take charge.

Palace had a late request to have the fixture postponed rejected by the Premier League, despite their outbreak.

The game is set to go ahead at 3pm, despite reports on Saturday evening claiming the fixture was set to join the raft of recent Covid postponements in the top flight.

Tottenham have already had two Premier League fixtures postponed due to Covid, while Palace’s last match against Watford was called off due to a Covid outbreak at Watford.

The fixture is one of six Premier League matches due to go ahead on Boxing Day.

Three games - Liverpool vs Leeds, Wolves vs Watford and Burnley vs Everton – have been called off due to Covid.
