Cycling-Cavendish wins Tour de France sixth stage, Van Avermaet keeps yellow

MONTAUBAN, France, July 7 (Reuters) - Briton Mark Cavendish of Dimension Data won the sixth stage of the Tour de France, a 190.5-km ride from Arpajon sur Cere on Thursday. German Marcel Kittel (Etixx-Quick Step) was second and Briton Dan McLay (Fortuneo Vital Concept) finished third. Belgian Greg van Avermaet (BMC) retained the overall leader's yellow jersey.
