Cyriel Dessers Rangers transfer asking price as several clubs join race

Rangers are looking to break even on Cyriel Dessers as several clubs join the race for his signature.

Greek side PAOK, who played both Hearts and Aberdeen in Europe last season, have already shown an interest and some reports even suggested they were in "advanced talks" to sign the Nigerian. But he is now also reportedly getting admiring glances from elsewhere in Europe and Saudi Arabia.

Clubs from both Spain and France have registered their interest with the Ibrox club, according to the Rangers Review. The reports adds the situation of the 29-year-old is being "closely monitored" in cash-rich Saudi so a lucrative move to the Pro League there could be an option.

Gers signed the striker just 12 months ago from Italians Cremonese, paying £4.5million to acquire his services. And it's understood they would be looking to bring in the same amount to let him move on again this summer.

Dessers' season was the very definition of blowing hot and cold as he was often maligned for his displays but still managed to score 22 goals in all competitions. Fans immediately struggled to take to him after his signing last year and he often had to put up with jeers.

But Michael Beale and then Philippe Clement both stuck with him and he showed admirable perseverance to keep going and begin to find the net, with supporters warming to him. But despite a decent scoring rate, there was still a feeling that he missed too many chances and his return and all-round game could have been even better.
