Darwin Nunez did not seem in any mood to speak with internet celebrity Jack Doherty as the Liverpool striker appeared to ruthlessly snub the YouTuber.

The video showing the Uruguayan went viral after he was spotted posing for pictures on the street of United States with members of the public. YouTube star Jack Doherty was among those who attempted to approach Nunez, however the Liverpool No. 9 casually strolled past him without acknowledgement, and continued walking.

It's unknown whether Nunez was aware of who Doherty was, or whether he did know and walked past him regardless. Doherty is famous for attempting pranks in public spaces, and has a YouTube subscriber base of around 14m followers, alongside a massive following on Instagram, with around 2m users following the 20-year-old.

It later transpired that the viral sensation was filming a video with his girlfriend at the time, with the pair conversing during the episode. Firstly, Doherty exclaimed "Excuse me sir," before the 24-year-old completely blanked him and walked off - as the former then randomly pointed out that the Reds forward was wearing "two watches".

The savage snub inspired a host of reactions from social media users who could not help but see the funny side of the way the exchange played out. Reacting to the clip on Twitter/X, one person said: "I love Darwin Nunez but now I love him even more hahahahaha", while another added: "As if I didn’t like Darwin enough already."

Meanwhile, another fan quipped: "When tiktok “fame” meets real fame. Bro got darwizzed, before one posited: "Tbf fame had nothing to do with him ignoring him. Imagine a guy walks up to you with a camera pointed at you."

The Liverpool forward didn't have the greatest of seasons in 2023/24. The Uruguayan striker started the season brightly, before his form dipped in the second half of the campaign. By the end of the season, Nunez scored 11 goals in the Premier League in his second campaign in England.

Across his two seasons in England, he's notched 20 league goals, and pressure is now growing on the striker to deliver on his enormous potential. Moreover, his price tag, which starts at $59m (£46m/€55m) but could rise to become Liverpool's most expensive signing of all-time should add-ons be met, is also a factor.

Nunez will be representing his country at the 2024 Copa America in the US, with Uruguay in a group containing the USMNT, Bolivia and Panama.
