Darwin Nunez presented a gift to former Liverpool star Luis Suarez while on international duty with his Uruguay teammate.

Nunez is currently with the Uruguay squad at the Copa America which is being hosted in the United States. The Liverpool striker has scored two goals in his three appearances at the tournament as Uruguay emerged as group winners to reach the quarter-finals.

Suarez is yet to score in the tournament for Uruguay but did reach a personal landmark with his recent appearance. The former Reds striker made a brief cameo off the bench in his country's 1-0 win over the United States, which also happened to be his 140th cap.

On Wednesday, the official Instagram account for the Uruguay team posted a video of Nunez presenting Suarez with a shirt for his country. The shirt read "L.Suarez 140 partidos [matches]", in a nod to the recent achievement by the Inter Miami striker.

Nunez and Suarez will face Brazil in the quarter-final of the Copa America on Sunday night. The match will see Nunez face his Liverpool teammate Alisson Becker, who is expected to be in goal for Brazil.

The outcome of the match will see one of the two Liverpool stars begin their summer break, while the other will continue their quest for glory with their country. Pre-season training is set to begin for the Reds later this month with new head coach Arne Slot at the AXA Training Centre.
