Darwin Nunez, the Liverpool striker, has praised Jurgen Klopp for his role in improving his attitude at Anfield.

The Uruguayan forward has also spoken about the challenges of making it in the Premier League, acknowledging that the intensity is unlike anything he experienced in Spain or Portugal. Nunez, who celebrated his 25th birthday earlier this month, made the move from Benfica to Liverpool two years ago. The transfer could end up costing the Reds $107.4 million.

The striker is currently on fire for Uruguay at the Copa America, having scored in a 3-1 victory over Panama on Monday and again in Friday's 5-0 thrashing of Bolivia. Since his transfer from Benfica, Nunez has found the back of the net 33 times for Liverpool.

He finished last season with a tally of 18 goals and 13 assists, helping Klopp's team secure the Carabao Cup and a third-place finish in the Premier League. In a chat for the Premier League's 'World Beaters' series, Nunez expressed his gratitude to Klopp for his guidance during their two seasons together, as he discussed the trials of achieving success in England's top-tier soccer league.

"To be honest, playing in the Premier League isn't easy at all, it's difficult," Nunez said. "Players are stronger and there's a higher level of intensity. [Klopp] helped me improve some of my skills on the pitch. He helped me a lot to have a better attitude. To be honest, it is thanks to him that I am doing well today.

"I'll try to give my best so that things turn out well for us and bring joy to every Uruguayan. Today I get to be the No.9 at Liverpool and follow in the footsteps of the greats who have played here. I'm doing the best I can to bring joy to the club and the fans."

In the same video, Mohamed Salah added: "He loves to run in the spaces, he is really, really fast so he keeps looking at me because he knows that I can give him the ball easily into the spaces and he can finish the situation."

Nunez, who has been on fire with 10 goals in his last seven international appearances, will be back on the pitch for Marcelo Bielsa's Uruguay as the team faces off against the United States on Tuesday, July 2 in Group C of the Copa America.
