Dave Bautista Joins Jane Levy In Indie Action Thriller ‘Bushwick’; Clementine Nicholson Cast In ‘Underworld 5’

EXCLUSIVE: Dave Bautista (Guardians Of The Galaxy) is set to star opposite Jane Levy in the action thriller Bushwick. It follows 20-year-old Lucy (Levy) and war veteran Stupe (Bautista) during a domestic crisis as Texas tries to secede from the U.S., with NYC being used as a negotiation tool. Lucy and Stupe meet during a military invasion of Brooklyn and together decide to cross the treacherous five blocks of Bushwick — littered with looters, local militias, the invading forces and one crazy cousin — in order to get home and be reunited with Lucy’s grandmother.

The Cooties team of Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott are directing Nick Damici and Graham Reznik’s script, which is based upon a story by Murnion and Milott. Nate Bolotin of XYZ Films and Adam Folk of Bullet Pictures are producing, and the pic is now scheduled to go into production in New York this year. XYZ and WME Global are co-repping U.S. rights and will be selling it at the Toronto Film Festival which kicks off this week.

The news comes the same day Deadline’s Mike Fleming Jr scooped that Bautista is joining Bruce Willis and Christopher Meloni in Marauders, a Steven C. Miller-directed action thriller that Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films will produce and finance and release through Lionsgate Premiere.

Bautista, who played Drax in Guardians Of The Galaxy, next stars in the Luc Besson pic Warrior’s Gate and also Bus 657 and Spectre. He is repped by Gersh, manager Jonathan Meisner and attorney Jay Rosenthal.
