David Moyes has responded to questions on the Scotland job after having his name put forward by some fans.

After the disappointing performances in Euro 2024, Steve Clarke is finding his future being questioned by sections of the Tartan Army. Defeat to Hungary last night meant we crashed out of the tournament with just one point leaving us bottom of the group for a second tournament in a row.

Moyes is the name on the lips of many supporters when asked for an alternative to the current boss, and he is currently out of work after leaving West Ham. He appeared on talkSPORT this morning and while they didn't outright ask him about if he would be interested in the job, it was heavily implied.

Jim White asked if the national team job was an appealing one to managers, and Moyes said: "I think it's a really good job and I think Steve has done brilliant and that's why everybody is behind it. If you look at the amount of Scotland supporters that travelled, the national anthem, the way the supporters have behaved, I think they've been a credit to the nation."

Simon Jordan was then very clever with the wording of his next question, asking if it's a good job for someone who has "been successful in the Premier League and won a European trophy", which describes Moyes down to a tee.

He replied: "I believe the Scotland job would be a good job for any manager. Some managers when you've worked hard over a few years need a break and sometimes have to take a bit of time before you do anything.

"You know me, I'm always going to stick up for managers. None of you could say Steve Clarke hasn't done a good job for Scotland. He's done a brilliant job.

"Last night was probably a night where he would be disappointed. And the Germany game will live with him forever because he's opening the tournament, we just didn't play as well as we should have."
