David Willey will miss England's 50-over matches in West Indies after having shoulder surgery.

Willey underwent the operation last Friday and was revealed to have suffered a tear of the tendon.

The Yorkshire player, a bowling all-rounder, is expected to be out of action until April. He did the damage against India in last month's one-day series.

Steven Finn has been called up to replace Willey in the ODI squad. The Middlesex pace bowler had been playing in the Pakistan Super League, a competition taking place in the United Arab Emirates.

England fly to the Caribbean for their 50-over and Twenty20 matches on February 22.

"The Yorkshire all-rounder had surgery on his left shoulder on Friday to further assess the injury he sustained whilst bowling in the third ODI against India last month," the statement read.

"He has suffered a partial tear of a tendon and will be out of action until April."
