Delhi walks off against Walton/Downsville 8-7; Schenevus rolls 11-1

Apr. 11—A walk-off bases-loaded walk from Isaac Marsiglio capped a comeback victory as the Delhi baseball team took down Walton/Downsville 8-7 Thursday at home.

W/D scored five in the top of the seventh inning to open up a 7-3 lead but the Bulldogs put up five of their own in the bottom half to seal the win.

Cameron Thompson had a three-run double in the seventh and drove in four, Marsiglio singled, doubled and drove in two runs and Andrew Liddle doubled in the win.

Mason Reed tallied two hits and two RBI for Delhi.

Lucas Nealis allowed two runs over six innings for Delhi while Bryce Livengood earned the win, pitching the seventh.

Delhi will visit Seton Catholic on Saturday while W/D will host South Kortright on Friday.

Schenevus 11, Charlotte Valley 1

Schenevus cruised to an 11-1 win over Charlotte Valley at home on Thursday.

Tim Green had a grand slam and five RBI while Austin Tilley doubled, Allen Osborne drove in two runs and Jackson Reed scored three runs in the win

Mehki Regg earned the win, striking out five over five innings.

Ezra Ontl doubled and drove in a run while Ethan Barrett doubled for Charlotte Valley.

Schenevus will host Richfield Springs on Monday while Charlotte Valley will host Jefferson/Stamford on Friday.

Cooperstown 2, Sauquoit Valley 1 (Wednesday)

Cooperstown needed nine innings to earn a 2-1 season-opening win against Sauquoit Valley on Wednesday.

Kalen Dempsey plated the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth on an RBI single after scoring the Hawkeyes' first run on a fielder's choice in the eighth.

Dempsey also pitched seven innings on the mound, striking out nine while allowing just four hits and one walk. Aaron Katz earned the win out of the bullpen with five strikeouts in two innings.

Cooperstown will visit Westmoreland on Friday.

The Oneonta softball team fell to Susquehanna Valley 12-3 on the road Thursday.

Madyson Imperato, Desiree Wheeler, Lily Bridger and Jenevie Gallusser each tallied hits for the Yellowjackets.

Ivy Tice struck out five over four innings while Bridger struck out one over two innings.

Oneonta falls to 2-2 and will visit Bainbridge-Guilford Friday.

TENNIS

The Delhi tennis team swept Greene 5-0 on Thursday.

Tabor Reed, Risdon Reed and Bryce Burrows each won in singles play for the Bulldogs while the tandems of Ryan Burrows and Tyler Abts and Will Mokay and Levi Shephard took home wins in doubles.

Delhi improves to 3-0 and will visit Norwich Friday.
