Man stabbed to death and two 'seriously injured' in Oxfordshire as police launch murder investigation

A man has been stabbed to death and two others seriously injured during a fight in an Oxfordshire town.

The victim, said to be in his 40s, died in hospital after being discovered with “multiple stab wounds” at Mendip Heights in Didcot at 3.46am on Thursday.

The two other victims - a man in his 20s and another man in his 30s - are in a serious but stable condition in hospital, Thames Valley Police said in a statement.

Detectives have launched a murder investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Blaik of Thames Valley Police said: “This is a tragic incident in which a person has lost their life after being attacked with a knife.

“This murder will shock the local community, but I want to reassure residents that we are carrying out a thorough investigation and we are determined to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“Mendip Heights is currently closed as we carrying out vital forensic examinations at the scene and conduct house to house enquiries in the area. I would like to thank residents for their ongoing cooperation and patience.”
