Dominik Szoboszlai showed his class by wearing Barnabas Varga's jersey at full-time after Hungary's win over Scotland. The Liverpool midfielder was left shaken by the horror injury sustained by his Hungary teammate at the European Championships in Germany.

Szoboszlai was in tears when he saw what unfolded when Varga was clattered into inside the penalty area. Scotland goalkeeper, Angus Gunn, came flying out to try and claim an aerial ball but connected with Varga instead.

When the medical team were not rushing on quickly enough for Hungary's liking, Szoboszlai took it upon himself to sprint on with the stretcher. Varga did receive medical attention promptly and, after a lengthy delay, was taken off the pitch with those left on the field visibly shaken up.

Hungary went on to win the game in the 10th minute of added time at the end of the second half, with Liverpool star Szoboszlai instigating a move that led to Kevin Csoboth sweeping the ball into the corner.

Hungary needed to win in order to keep its hopes alive of making the last-16 and now must wait to see what happens in the other groups. Szoboszlai's side needs to be one of the four best third-place finishers in order to get through.

While celebrating the late win, Szoboszlai wore Varga's shirt to show support for his teammate, typically leading the team as captain and showing his true colors. The heartfelt gesture did not go unnoticed.

Szoboszlai had also grabbed Varga's shirt amid the chaotic celebrations on the field in the immediate aftermath of the winning goal. He held it aloft in front of the Hungary fans to rapturous applause. A statement from Hungary has since confirmed that Varga is in a "stable" condition in a Stuttgart hospital.

Liverpool.com says: Szoboszlai became the youngest-ever captain of a national team at a European Championship on matchday one in Germany but he has shown no signs of immaturity. The Liverpool man is only 23 but has a wealth of experience. His human side shone through here as he helped guide his teammates to victory despite the adversity.
