Heidi N Closet has opened up about her shocking exit from RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 8.

The fan-favourite queen appeared back on Season 12 of the hit US version of Drag Race, but walked out of the Werk Room abruptly ending her time on the spin-off show.

As fans speculated about what caused Heidi's dramatic exit, she revealed that she has no regrets about her decision.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Heidi explained: "Absolutely not. I have zero regrets, I stand by the decisions I made, I'm proud of what I got to show."

Since the show aired, Heidi has also had individual conversations with her co-stars to talk through the dramatic events that unfolded.

However, it wasn’t only the on-screen (and off-screen) drama that played on her mind, but the newfound grief of her grandmother.

She explained: "That was weighing on me, my family life, my grandmother was the glue that held my family together….

"When she passed, all hell broke loose, there was fighting over the house, guns got pulled out, it was just very ugly, and it was two months before leaving for All Stars…. I was very much dealing with that."

Heidi added that she hoped that viewers would have acted the same way in her position, and put their mental health and wellbeing first.

She continued: "As far as a legacy of being remembered, I want people to take my story at the end, me leaving, and choosing my happiness over everything and my peace."

In spite of all the drama, Heidi shared that she did have a positive experience on the show, and hasn’t ruled out a return to Drag Race in the future.

She said: "There's been a lot of healing in my family, there's been a lot of time for me to reflect and heal myself as well.

"If, one day, they call upon Heidi like, 'We'd love to have you back on something,' don't be surprised if she shows up."

The star also opened up on her exit from the show in a candid tweet, writing: "So through out the last 9 months I dealt with sadness, depression, and anger and through that I did make a diss track but THANK U to my amazing partner and group of friends that helped me through that and reminded me about peace and love. I’m not perfect but I’m growing."

She added: "When I left #Allstars8 about half way home Break My Soul started playing and I knew I had made the right decision!!! I wanna say again thank you all for so much love. Remember to put yourself first!"
