The Duchess of Cambridge has hired a new private secretary - and she comes with an impressive CV of royal achievements.
Kate has hired Hannah Cockburn-Logie as her right-hand woman, about six months after her former private secretary quit the role.
Cockburn-Logie has already worked with the duchess and her husband, so must have left a good impression.
She was awarded an OBE in 2017 for co-ordinating the royal tour of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in India, the year before.
According to her LinkedIn profile, she was awarded an MVO in 2008 for her work leading the Queen’s visit to Slovenia, so she has plenty of royal experience.
She’s originally from Cleethorpes and Grimsby and her local paper The Grimsby Telegraph reported she had been based in India with her diplomacy work for more than three years after she was given the OBE.
Speaking about the honour, she told the paper: “I am absolutely over the moon, it is a real privilege and honour having worked so hard for the past few years in India.
“It is really nice to have your work recognised. I never imagined when I was at school that I would one day be recognised in this way. I hope it shows that hard work pays off. It is wonderful to be back in Grimsby to share this news with my family in person.”
At the time she was expecting her second child.
According to the Daily Mail, a private secretary to the duchess can expect to earn a six-figure salary, which was previously funded by the Duchy of Cornwall, Prince Charles’s estate.
Cockburn-Logie takes over from Catherine Quinn, who left the job with Kate in November, after just two years, shorter than the usual time spent in the role.
She joins the Cambridge household at a crucial time, as William and Kate have reshaped some of their royal work to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.
In the future, her role will also involve preparing Kate for public engagements and being on hand to collect the gifts and flowers she is given.
Cockburn-Logie was most recently based in Brussels for work, and it’s not clear if she is still there or has returned to her native Grimsby.
She may have to stick to video calls with her new boss for now.
