McCall (13-5-1) is currently ranked No. 4 in the 125-pound division. He had won back-to-back bouts before losing a unanimous decision to John Lineker at UFC 183 in January.

Ortiz (14-4) sits at No. 11 in the rankings after having lost a unanimous decision to Joseph Benavidez last November.

Their fight at UFC Fight Night 73 will be a rematch that has been a little over four years in the making. The two fought under the Tachi Palace Fights banner in 2011 with McCall winning a unanimous decision. He would then go on to win that promotion's flyweight title in his next bout.

A five-round light heavyweight bout between Glover Teixeira and Ovince St. Preux headlines the UFC Fight Night 73 card in Nashville.
