Eastleigh club snatches prestigious billiards title after a decade

A club from Eastleigh have won the Southampton Billiards League title for the first time since 2012.

Churchills Club Eastleigh emerged victorious by defeating defending champions Chandler's Ford Central in the Southampton Billiards League Championship, a competition that has been going since 1936.

The team's victory was led by captain Derek Foster and vice-captain Mike Henstredge, along with teammates Jerry Warren, Mark McLean, Steven Hughes, Steve Hulbert, Dave Lovejoy, and Paul Adams.

Scoring 84 points against 70, Churchills' success resulted from winning 15 out of 21 games.

Mr Warren secured a notable individual success, leading the season's league rankings by winning 18 games.

Meanwhile, Mr Hughes ranked eighth, and Mr Hulbert achieved a third place, fostering overall success for the team.

Further success was obtained by the team's runner-up position in the team handicap final.
