Elie Youan transfer exit wait as Hibs hold out for more than £2.5million for wanted star

Hibs are believed to be holding out for more than £2.5million for Elie Youan as clubs circle for the attacker.

The Frenchman has suitors and has already been the subject of bids closer to the £2m mark this summer. An unnamed French club put forward an offer for his services recently but were told to up their efforts to land the 25-year-old. Hibs spent around £700k for the player from St Gallen last year after an initial loan and would earn a tidy profit.

But the Scotsman now report that the club hierarchy believe Youan's worth is greater than the money on the table and they're holding out for their valuation.

Youan scored 10 goals last season and provided 11 assists which was a strong output even despite the club not finishing in the top six amid difficult circumstances involving Lee Johnson's sacking before Nick Montgomery was also binned.

The former Nantes forward still has two years remaining on his contract at Easter Road and that means Hibs are in a position of strength with any incoming bids.

New manager David Gray is expected to be busy in this coming window with a squad overhaul coming and money for Youan could go a long way in helping facilitate his plans. But the club won't rush to sell.
