Emmerdale's Lewis Cope calls for missing character to arrive

Emmerdale star Lewis Cope has called for an often mentioned but not seen character to finally make their way to the village.
The actor plays Nicky 'The Nanny' Miligan in the ITV soap. He's been involved in a storyline that has seen him fake being in love with Gabby Thomas in order to get his hands on Kim Tate's money, a plan he was forced into by his dad Caleb.
Nicky's mum has been mentioned quite a lot so far but never seen on screen, and Cope thinks it's about time that she actually appears on Emmerdale.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Cope said: "For Nicky — all the way through it's been about his mother. The whole plan and getting revenge and money for Nicky is about making sure his mam's alright. He's always had the motive to do it because of his mam.
"But he's resented his dad for that because he has been forced to do it. When he does find out down the line that Caleb's motives aren't what he thought, he feels very betrayed.
"I'd love to meet her because she's been such a pivotal part of the story and drive for Nicky being in the village, so I'd love for her to come in but so far, I haven't heard of any plans of her coming in."

This week has seen Nicky finally reveal to Gabby that he's gay and that he can't go through with the wedding.
Caleb's plan is going to unravel as the week goes on. Next week will see the Dingles meet to discuss what to do with him and a mystery assailant will attack him in a new whodunnit story.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
